VitroCap®N is a once-daily micronutrient supplement formulated for people with persistent, symptomatic vitreous floaters.

Floaters are the small spots, strands, cobwebs or shadows that can drift through your vision. They commonly develop as the clear vitreous gel inside the eye changes with age.

VitroCap®N contains a targeted combination of L-lysine, vitamin C, grape seed extract, citrus bioflavonoids and zinc. This formulation has been investigated in a randomized, placebo-controlled clinical trial for symptomatic vitreous floaters.

It is a non-invasive option for people with bothersome floaters that have already been assessed by an eye-care professional.

What Does the Research Show?

The FLIES study was a double-masked, randomized, placebo-controlled clinical trial involving 61 adults with symptomatic vitreous floaters.

Participants took either the VitroCap®N micronutrient formulation or placebo daily for six months.

After six months, the active group experienced:

• a significant reduction in floater-related visual discomfort
• a significant reduction in objectively measured vitreous opacity area
• improvement in one measure of contrast sensitivity

The researchers reported that the defined therapeutic effect was achieved in 66.6% of participants in the active group.

These findings are encouraging, but VitroCap®N is not expected to eliminate floaters completely and may not help everyone.

Active Ingredients – Per Capsule

• L-Lysine Hydrochloride: 125 mg
• Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid): 40 mg
• Grape Seed Extract: 26.3 mg, providing 25 mg proanthocyanidins
• Citrus Bioflavonoid Extract: 100 mg, providing 60 mg hesperidin
• Zinc: 5 mg

How to Take VitroCap®N

• Take one capsule daily with water, preferably after a meal.
• The published clinical trial assessed outcomes after six months of consistent daily use.
• We generally suggest allowing 3–6 months before deciding whether it has been helpful.
• Suitable for vegans and free from gluten and lactose.

What Should I Expect?

VitroCap®N works gradually.

For some people, floaters may become less noticeable or less intrusive, rather than disappearing completely.

Floaters can also naturally become less noticeable over time, so improvement may reflect a combination of natural adaptation and supplementation.

💡 Illume Tip

VitroCap®N is most appropriate for persistent floaters that have already been medically assessed.

If you develop new floaters, a sudden increase or shower of floaters, flashes of light, reduced vision, loss of peripheral vision, or a curtain or shadow in your vision, arrange an urgent eye examination.

These symptoms can sometimes indicate a posterior vitreous detachment, retinal tear or retinal detachment and require assessment rather than supplementation.

VitroCap®N does not treat or prevent a retinal tear or retinal detachment.
